The View
The View is a totally new way to access an HP NonStop system. This new interface was designed to look and work like Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS.
Why? Because their point and click style of interface is simple to use! Edit files, spoolfiles, or program files can be accessed with a simple click of the mouse. How about scrolling through a 200 page spoolfile? Or drag and drop files between the system and your PC! The View is 80% faster than any terminal emulator! The View includes seven tools, a program execution window, and a GUI editor. The View will increase your productivity and working on the system will be what it should be - easy!
Features
The View's main window is called the desktop where all other windows will be displayed. Icons can be created for Tandem edit, archived spoolfiles, program files, C Data files, PC Folders, and Subvols for easy access to those resources.
The MyProcesses window displays only your processes. Selected processes can be easily stopped, suspended, activated, or their priority altered.
The File Tool allows access to files located on a local PC, PC network disk, and Tandem systems. The File Tool supports files to be dragged and dropped between the Tandem and PC. Up to 8 File Tool windows can be opened.
Peruse Tool allows viewing, managing, and archiving spoolfiles.
Archive Tool displays archived spoolfiles in a tree directory allowing easy retrieval.
Net Tool shows the status of all systems in your network and optionally their cpu utilization.
Process Tool displays only your processes, all processes in any cpu or system. You can also Stop, Suspend, Activate your processes with the click of a button.
FindFile Tool locates files based on a wildcard file name and by file attributes.
Tandem program files can be executed in a 132 character wide scrollable window that can store commands executed day to day.
The GUI editor retrieves and saves Tandem edit files, includes color syntax highlighting (also prints in color), unlimited undo and redo, has over 130 edit commands, and allows your favorite hot keys to be configured the way you like them.
Connect up to 254 Tandem systems and up to 50 Tandem Spoolers per Tandem system.
The Office 2000 style of interface was adopted featuring tear off menus and toolbars, a slidebar containing tools and commands, and is fully user customizable.
